It is hard to see how the ‘compassion economy’ is in fact an economy at all. Consumer good, which are defining property of our economy, are unlikely to be produce by compassion. It is probably more likely that our society will indeed indulge itself in the cosy quilt of feel good compassion, while the rest of the world sweat itself to death working to supply us with the good that we are too compassionate to produce ourselves, but quite capable of taking form them.

An economy base on feeling is the most self indulgent and parasitic form imaginable.

The person of that BBC article puts male invented technology against males. What he doesn't do is put technology against females. Such as women will in the long term become unnecessary for reproduction due to artificial uteri which will be a far superior way for reproduction.

We have been hearing predictions about how the future will be female for many years now; it is always just round the corner, but never seems to arrive.

Strangely enough, the imminent female-dominated future seems to be heralded in by endless complaints from women that they are discriminated against, that they are not making the progress in the job market that they should be, and that a vast raft of special measures are necessary to give them a leg up onto men's level.

Doesn't sound to me like a sex on the verge of taking over the economy. Sounds much more like a sex struggling to catch up.

We have also long been hearing about how machines are replacing men's jobs, which is immediately and totally illogically translated into "men will not be needed". Funny how none of these "men are dooomed" mongers never go on to tell us who will be building, repairing or servicing these machines; who will be generating and transmitting the power they will need to run; and who will have to rescue our society if the world of machines ever collapses.

But I can tell you one thing: it sure won't be women.

And where do these people keep getting the idea that women are actually better than men at "emotional intelligence"? Men are much better thinkers and communicators (yapping endlessly is not the same as communication; they are two entirely different things) and actually just as empathic as women, if not more so. Men are also far less selfish and much better at relationships (put a bunch of women together and subject them to stress, and you will soon see how bitchy and divided they become). Men are also much more emotionally stable. We don't have raging hormones that take over our minds and bodies on a monthly cycle.

The future looks to me like it will remain very much in the domain of men.
