Forget The War On Drugs

Forget The War On Drugs As in Helmand, in Afghanistan, many inner-city estates have created an alternative social order where the economics of the hugely profitable drug trade are far more attractive than any other choice. Anatole Kaletsky

In my view, at least soft drugs such as cannabis should quickly be decriminalised - though I think that, perhaps, the heavy-duty versions such as skunk ought to remain illegal - given the current research into it possibly being an instigator of various psychoses.

This does not mean that there should not be a 'war on drugs' - but, in my view, it should be a war waged by education, information and caring - not punishment, prosecution and prison.
